Shane McMahan

Treasurer

As an avid lover of the great outdoors, I find immense pleasure in engaging in activities such as fishing, hunting, hiking, and exploring new terrains. My passion for animals and the natural world has been ingrained in me since childhood. I strongly believe that it's crucial to preserve our environment for the benefit of future generations. The conservation of both land and wildlife has far-reaching effects on all of us and the ecosystems we depend on. As such, I am dedicated to raising awareness and educating people of all ages and experience levels on the importance of sustainable land use and promoting practices that support healthy habitats for wildlife. By instilling the right values early on, we can all work together to create a better future for our planet.

Patrick Linker

Secretary

I am a life-long avid lover of the outdoors hunting, fishing, and just watching animals. I have always had a love for the outdoors and seeing youth enjoy it as I did and still do. I joined DSC to be with an amazing group of people who share the same passions. We all love seeing generations passing down hunting and fishing as ways of conservation to preserve our wildlife and our environment. I enjoy spending time with my children traveling around seeing new places. My son has grown a lot of respect and love for the outdoors by joining me in getting his first trophy buck at 5 years old, That is a moment he nor I will ever forget! That was the moment I realized that I needed to join something like DSC and share that moment with many others.

Jacob Wallace

Board Member

I am a lifelong hunter with an urge to ensure future generations have the same opportunities in the outdoors, both here in the US and internationally, that I have had the chance to experience.  Conserving wild places and protecting the right to hunt are top priorities of mine and what led me to become a DSC Life Sponsor.  I am an avid waterfowl and upland hunter and spend much of the fall and winter chasing birds at my lodge in Arkansas, out west, and around the Southeast.  The remaining part of my year typically leads me to hunt internationally for big game and wing shooting.  I have worked in the outdoor travel industry for nearly 15 years, my buiness has led me to multiple countries and continents for hunting and fishing, including a stint as a waterfowl and dove hunting guide in Argentina.  My career also allows me the privilege to help with fundraising efforts put on by conservation groups across America, joining the board of DSC Carolina gives me an additional opportunity to have a hands-on role in those efforts.  I reside in Boone, NC with my wife, son (11), two daughters (3 and 6) and a few bird dogs

Grant Jones

Board Member

Growing up on a farm in Ohio, I had the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, chasing pheasants, ducks and bass with my family.  My father passed on a deep passion for natural places and the animals that inhabit them.
I have been fortunate to experience hunting in Africa, Europe and North America.  In Africa, I saw firsthand the beneficial, long-lasting impact of sport hunting for both the African people and its animals — with Dallas Safari Club at the forefront of conservation leadership.  Even before becoming a DSC member, I was aware of the work it was doing on behalf of hunters and the animals and places they love.
Additionally, I have had prior experience in conservation-related not-for-profits as a former president of The East Haddam Fishing and Game Club in Connecticut and a board member and treasurer of the Catskills Fly Fishing Center and Museum in Livingston Manor, New York.
After a career in banking and financial services in New York, I have since retired to North Carolina.  My wife Stacey and I are recent empty nesters now residing in Charlotte where we enjoy the company of Blix, a passionate bird-hunting English Cocker Spaniel
